OUR COMMUNITY
PROJECT IDENTITY PRESENTS:ASHKENAZ AND SEPHARAD - FROM WHENCE THEY CAME
Among the many different groupings and "types" of Jews, perhaps the most famous divide is between Ashkenazi Jews and their Sephardic counterparts. We know that the two groups developed in two different regions, but how did we get there? Why do these differences remain in the melting pot of the modern world? This lecture will investigate the historical origin of this divide and trace these two regions as they developed their distinct differences in culture and in Jewish law. Whether you are of Sephardic or Ashkenazic descent, come and better understand your history and practices. Sunday morning, April 18th - Breakfast 9:30AM, Lecture 10:00AM - Cost $5.00
